Abstract
One of the criticisms of the jurisprudential-legal system of Islam is that the beating of the wife in the case of disobedience of her husband is recommended in the Holy Quran. The critics say that the Holy Quran’s recommendation for the beating of the wives is not compatible with their dignity and that this ruling can set the scene for or increase family violation. The wife’s beating is not only inefficient, but also causes her hatred and doubles her disobedience. Meanwhile, a man who beats his wife and forces her to intercourse does not drive any profit out of it. Giving an elaborate and new explanation of the jurisprudential aspect of the matter, this article analyses and explains the most important wisdoms of this strategy of the Quran and its educational solution.
